Reaching Resolution Therapy
38 Howard Park, Toronto, ON , M6R0A7
Stephanie Stavro-Pearce is an experienced Child and Family Therapist providing services to children, adolescents and families. As a trained Collaborative Family Professional, Stephanie supports families through the emotional difficulties that often surface during separation. Stephanie’s focus is to facilitate the resolution of outstanding issues, while ensuring the best interests of the children are continuously considered during decision making. Stephanie provides guidance to assist parents in communicating their interests effectively, while helping them identify and remain mindful of their child(ren)s needs. By neutrally facilitating collaborative meetings, consulting with the children, and/or mediating parenting issues, Stephanie’s goal is for family members to feel greatly supported throughout the separation process. With the help of a family professional, individuals can reach agreements out of court that are fair, lasting, and most importantly, meet the unique needs of their family. Stephanie has observed how the collaborative process can significantly minimize on-going conflict among families, and help family members positively move forward with their lives.
Stephanie holds a Master’s of Social Work from the University of Toronto and is certified in Alternative Dispute Resolution from York University. For over 5 years Stephanie has supported children and families in various settings; her professional experience includes family mediation, paediatric healthcare, facilitating educational workshops through Victim Services Toronto, and counselling youth as a school-based social worker. Further to her current role as a Child and Family Therapist in a Section 23 Day-Treatment Program, Stephanie continues to participate in academic research in association with the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work and will be presenting at the AFCC conference in May 2019. In addition to Collaborative Family Practice, Stephanie provides individual counselling to children and adolescents, voice of the child services, and parenting education to caregivers pre- and post-separation.
