I am a settlement oriented lawyer and have practiced family law in Toronto for over 20 years. For me, collaborative practice came very naturally when I certified as a collaborative practitioner.
If you enter into the collaborative process, you will be taking a significant step towards positive new beginnings for yourself and for your family. By collaborating, you and your former spouse will have chosen not to enter into the court process and instead will work together with your lawyers (and other collaborative professionals, as needed) to achieve your goals in a respectful and creative way, and to find timely and comprehensive resolutions to the issues that you face. No matter how complicated your circumstances may be, in the collaborative process you will be given the legal, parenting and financial information you need to make the best decisions available to maintain family relationships and financial security.
I believe strongly in the collaborative process, having witnessed the often transformative experience of my clients. I am an involved and active member of the Ontario Collaborative Law Federation, the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, and I sit on the Board of Collaborative Practice Toronto, chairing one of our many active committees.
It can be challenging to navigate the road ahead in a separation, and I invite you to consult with me (416-924-3000 x244 or email@example.com) to discuss all of your options going forward.
